about Troncones

Between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean is a stretch of coastline called Troncones. It’s a small, coastal town about an hour north of Zihuatanejo.

It’s popular for the stunning beach, year round surf, the laidback vibe, a handful of restaurants, and choice accommodations. It’s a no-frills kind of place. Bars shut down at 10pm, and you won’t find any clubs or late night music. The internet and power will cut out if a storm comes through. The closest “formal” grocery store is 40 minutes away and there is hardly any information on Google Maps for local businesses. The best way to find out if a place is open is to simply roll through.

What you will find is a slow-going, pleasant seaside escape. Unspoiled coastline, local restaurants that have a love for incorporating local ingredients, and a very welcoming community.

We first visited Troncones in 2022 for Jennie’s 40th birthday celebration, and it is where Patrick proposed. We are so very excited to bring you all back to this special place and thank you in advance to all who brave the journey!

Please notice there is a Travel Advisory for most of Mexico. We’re following Gov.UK guidance, you can find more about this here.
